The Innate Immune System
The Innate Immune System
Students learn about the body’s first line of defense—the innate immune system. Using a castle as a model, students explore the barriers of the innate immune system and analyze data from the activity. In an optional concluding activity, students consider specific scenarios that introduce pathogens into the body and assign expected symptoms to components of the innate immune system.
