How did you first become interested in science?
Through college, really! I took some super interesting classes that I really enjoyed.
What was your favorite science class?
Genetics was one of my favorites. I found it fascinating, and we are still learning so much in that area of science. Another favorite was physiology!
When did you know you wanted to pursue a career related to science?
I really felt at ease with science subjects more than others. I loved other classes and courses too, but I knew I could see myself creating a career that I would love out of my biology and chemistry classes. Specifically, when it came to physiology, I really loved seeing how the human body worked.
What is your favorite part of your job?
As a pediatrician, my favorite part is the patients! I'm a bit biased of course, but I would also say I love how unique pediatric medicine is. It's a field of its own within the field of medicine. Children have unique physiology, diagnoses, and treatment plans.
What current scientific discovery or project are you most excited about?
As a parent to a child with food allergies, data and innovations in food allergy prevention and treatment are fascinating to me!
