HILLEMAN wins Science Communication Award at 10th International Science Film Festival in Athens, Greece

The 10th International Science Film Festival of Athens (ISFFA) took place on this island nation from October 17-23, 2016. The event is unique in Greece and ranks among the top events in Europe and internationally, offering audiences a fun way to explore achievements of science in areas such as new technology, medicine, biology psychology, physics, astronomy and more.
HILLEMAN – A Perilous Quest to Save the World’s Children, one of nearly 30 films to be screened at this year’s festival, was awarded the Science Communication Prize “[b]ecause it effectively tracks the development of vaccination through the work of [Maurice] Hilleman, a generally unknown scientist” and “shows the massive impact on the millions of people benefiting from his research.” Participating films represented nine countries and four continents from Europe to the Americas to Australia.
