HILLEMAN Mid-Atlantic Region Tour
HILLEMAN – A Perilous Quest to Save the World’s Children was selected as one of six films included in the 2016-17 edition of On Screen/In Person, a film touring program presented by Mid Atlantic Arts Foundation. The program provides opportunities for independent filmmakers to tour throughout the region with their recent films and foster greater understanding and appreciation of their work through direct audience engagement.
The HILLEMAN film travelled to ten venues in seven states in February 2017. Host sites included: BlackRock Center for the Arts (Germantown, MD), Bloomsburg University (Bloomsburg, PA), Carnegie Hall (Lewisburg, WV), Monmouth University (West Long Branch, NJ), Montgomery County Community College (Blue Bell, PA), Tilles Center for the Performing Arts at LIU Post (Brookville, NY), The Queen Theater (Wilmington, DE), Reading Area Community College (Reading, PA), The Ware Center at Millersville University (Lancaster, PA), Wayne Theatre Alliance (Waynesboro, VA).
HILLEMAN filmmaker Donald Rayne Mitchell toured with his award-winning documentary. The public screenings also included audience question and answer sessions and community engagement activities collaboratively developed by the filmmaker and the local host site.
